US Senate Approves 107 of President Trump’s Nominees
Senators cast their votes along party divisions, with a tally of 51-47, endorsing the nominees who included ambassadors, heads of agencies, and US attorneys.
Notable confirmations featured former Georgia Senate contender Herschel Walker as ambassador to the Bahamas, Sergio Gor appointed as ambassador to India, and David Fink designated to oversee the Federal Railroad Administration.
This batch follows the initial group of 48 nominees who were approved three weeks prior.
The adjustment in procedure was introduced after Democrats obstructed a previous deal aimed at expediting the confirmation process before the August recess, causing hundreds of nominations to remain pending for several months.
